KathEats says: I love the taste of flax seeds and put them in all kinds of meals – oatmeal, yogurt, cereal, salads, smoothies. They are a super nutritious food filled with essential fatty acids and also have protein and fiber. They are nutty to taste and are kind of like a harder sesame seed. They do need to be ground for full absorption of omega-3s, otherwise they are just beneficial as fiber. I use my coffee grinder to grind up a batch that keeps in the fridge in a container for easy access for a few weeks. Keep your whole seeds in the freezer in between grinding batches!
